Guppy problems
so, i have three guppy brothers in a 10 gallon, now divided to keep my VT Gackt so they both can enjoy the heater, but no one's overly stressed. i've noticed, though, one of hte guppies began laying on the bottom, moving only every now and then. after adding Gackt to their tank, i added aquarium salt, because he'd been clamped and lethargic, and i figured it'd give them both a boost. well, it worked. Gackt's now swimming happily, almost totally unclamped, but the guppies began laying down again. D: food perks them up, but then they return to the bottom to lay, wiggling a bit like guppies do, and moving their side fins. i saw my orange one, Phillipe, with a poop hanging, but it looked a bit.... like a string. might my guppies have parasites? could it transfer to Gackt? i've never seen Guppy poops, so i don't know what it looks like (having only experience with goldfish poops and betta poops). should i buy some parasite meds, to be safe?

Re: Guppy problems
It sounds like internal parasites.
Ive had good results with interpet anti internal bacteria which is number 9.

Re: Guppy problems
Yupyup, my mum ordered me some Jungle Parasite Clear from US and it's great stuff. The antibiotics should counteract any bacterial infection present too.
ETA - Just remembered it was this that put my filter into a mini-cycle, so just watch the water stats after use

Re: Guppy problems
thank you both! these are adopted Guppies, and i've grown really fond of these three. i've been thinking about getting a few more, but i don't want a guppy fry explosion! they don't pick at each other, but tease Gackt by wiggling at him. xD i'm gonna hafta get a pic of them, cause they're so cute.
