live and learn???
hi all,
well i guess ive learnt a lesson the hard way this week??
first ive lost 2 females which ok one was poorly not my fault,
but wasnt sure about the other convinced myself she was
to tiny??
but my gypsy the last of the three well she was a lovely size
and i thought she will be ok
wrong !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i noticed her fin at the bottom seemed abit frayed and she too
started to hide???
so im sitting watching closely and omg found she is being bullied!!!
by a platy
i cant believe it,so ive had to move her to a emergency tank
on her own,
she doesnt look good,i feel so bad feel a failure,
i know people say you cant put them with others
well i thought males and my male is with a mollie and they get
on really well.
so now looks like im going to lose her thats 3 females in one week
i dont trust myself now feel crap at my job looking after them
so my message to others now would be be careful keep an eye on them,
but for me i wont do that again if i decide to have females then thats
all i shall have in there,
from tropical girl who feels so bad tonight

Re: live and learn???
Maybe the Platties were bullying because she has the same body shape to them. Best just keep her in the hospital tank and probably best to keep it unlit for a day or two:)

Don't feel bad......everyone has been in your position before. Next time you'll do things differently....it's all part of learning the do's and don'ts and you are now in a postion to pass that knowledge onto other people that are just starting out

aw, not your fault, you can never know what will happen when you put fish together... you can follow basic 'rules' but there will always be exceptions.
