Combo of live and plastic plants? Empty Combo of live and plastic plants?

Post by jasminek Tue 17 Aug 2010 - 12:47

I'm going with a sorority again... just waiting for some fish off a member on the forum, I wanted live plants but i have quite a few plastic plants that are big i could use... is it ok to have a live plant and plasic combo?
plastic's always been fine in the past and hasn't seem to damage fins?

I dont use plastic but i do use live and silk plants together, made no problems for me. Smile Tend not to use plastic plants as they can rip tails/fins.

I use plastic in my sorority as they don't seem to bother the shorter fins. I think it'd be fine, just check the edges to see if they are particularly sharp Smile

Ah ok! Well i'll give them a check over before i put them in, might use the rubbing them against a pair of tights to see if it rips them. Smile

I've only used 3 of the fake plants out of 5 as the others were too sharp. They look good though, i'll get a bunch of cambomba and pop that in a bunch, as it grows fast! Smile

Don't plant cabomba in a bunch, as they love space and light to reach the bottom. You can plant each plant relatively close to it's neighbour, but a bunch will make the bottom rot. The plant should also branch out about half-way up if it's happy, so it grows very bushy!
