Getting A New Fish Used To You? Empty Getting A New Fish Used To You?

Hey. Ok, Ive got a new betta who i adore and she seems very shy. I'd like to sort of let her get used to me but how do i do that? Surely after a while she'll know who i am?

She kind of swims and shows off when i appear, but i want to create a sort of bond with her. Is it all about her trusting me?
Maybe as i have her longer feed her, change her water, talk to her ( :Embarassed: ) she'll get used to me hopefully!

It can take them a while to settle in...sometimes weeks but I'm sure she'll settle down soon and start to relax with in her new home and with you...especially once she gets used to you feeding her. We try to keep the lighting to a minimum for new ones, as it help to keep their stress levels down and then we just turn them on for feeding.

she's been in a sorority hun and not long been with you so give her time to adjust
i seperated her from the sorority as soon as you said you wanted her

When you go to the tank - as long as you havent got any soap or anything bad on your hands - just tap the water gently then give her a pellet when she comes up (i then feed properly later but do the same water tapping)
- i do that to all my girls in the sorority - pain in the butt when cleaning though as they all come and wrap your hands when you put your hands in the tank - they swim through my fingers Smile

Angel should remember doing it hun Smile
