one of my rescue goldfish is by himself in a tank and it has an algarde filter (I think they are called) but it is partly broken so drifts around the tank. The other day I got a second hand tank from a car boot, very pink! and it has a small elite filter (pink). The question is if I take the foam out of the pink filter and throw it away, can I clean the filter well and put the foam, cut to fit, inthe elite filter? Going on the assumption that the bacteria in the old foam is ok for the tank it is in. Can you follow that question?
