How long should lights be left on? Empty How long should lights be left on?

I turn the aquarium light on at about 10 and leave it on until i go bed about 11-12. Is this too long?
Just some people seem to only keep theres on for 8 hours or so.

yeh, 8 hours for me, i have a 15w light.
Depending on wattage, how many watts is your light.

well, then i'd say 10 hours max.

Hope that helps, and trust me, you dont want algae all over your tank, with too much light, its a pain to get off the glass and sand.

it depends what type of plants you are keeping mosses and jave fern only need a a tiny bit of lights where as some need alot more light.
