Re: Girl Fight
I havent had girls but sure it easily happens with all and any fish over food, they can gt a bit competitive. Clean crystal water will help her heal hon.

Re: Girl Fight
Females will fight especially when being fed, if you have at least 4 or 5 then they'll be fine.

Re: Girl Fight
have you added any new girls - they will fight again to get dominance if there's a change - usually its the lower ranking girls who fight
Before you release her back in again -remove all the girls and re arrange the complete tank then add her them all back in

Re: Girl Fight
What size tank do you have? Have they the space for their own terriotorys? Also before re releasing her do what Pip has said. Take them all out and re arrange the tank. Leave them out for 30 minutes before putting them back in.

Re: Girl Fight
Oh cool shouldn't be that then. I had a problem with mine due to a rogue male. The girls were fighting even when he had left but removing them for 30 mins and rearranging the tank calmed things down.

Re: Girl Fight
Try feed the fish individually if possible then in a few weeks go back to normal feeding all at the same time. Hopefully your girl that was bitten will make a good recovery.

The only one that may be a bit suspect is the first one (blue & red) Depends on how she matures.

Re: Girl Fight
They are all plakat.. were pk x hmpk cross but none had full hmpk finnage but all short finned many have 4+ branching for hm but tail rounded and not sharp at edges to the true 180 degrees spread.
first one is very strong with the shape but she's over 6 months now and def female unless she's changed sex! (it does happen occasionally) lol
the last pic in other post is actually a sibling.. had layers of colour with the blue then purple over it.. missing scale is actually the irridescence not being uniform.
My guess of them fighting now after having them a while too is due to food.
You may only have a few but their in a huge tank and territory/hiding places shouldn't be a problem
