Kitchen tank!!
For the past 9 months I have not been allowed a tank in the kitchen because of lack of room!! However Josh is now not having many bottles a day and my health visitor has said there is no longer any need to sterilise his bottles!! This means the steriliser can be put away and I should be allowed to get my tank back!!! My only problem is how on earth do I persuade Steve that he should allow me to put another tank in the kitchen again!! It could be difficult!! Ideas required people!! I am very unlucky that my OH does NOT like fish off any kind no matter how beautiful they are!!!

Re: Kitchen tank!!
heehee thats what I did when I first got betta's and he threatened to flush him down the loo!! lol! I think he would actually do it this time or send him to his sisters as her daughter wants a fish!! I've already got 2 tanks in the living room but the big one can only really have girls in because of the filter and the table I have my boy on is 2 small for a bigger tank!! Hmm!!!

Re: Kitchen tank!!
Well, you buy a bigger tank with a stand - divide it and remove the table, put the stand and tank in it's place then tell Steve you improvised!
Edit - Sorry, COMPROMISED LOL!

Re: Kitchen tank!!
Well joshie has just screwed it all up!! he has been really fussy over his milk for the past few days and we have just discovered its because we have been using whole milk rather than formula hence no need for sterilising! just offered him a bottle of whole milk he had about an ounce then started screaming for more but didn't want it so tried some formula and he gulped down 6 ounces!!! so the steriliser has to stay!! it means I can work on Steve slowly tho for when he will have whole milk and i can stop formula milk completely!!
hmm men always ruin my plans!!
p.s I may get a good nights sleep cos he has stuffed himself me thinks!!

I think that might be classed as neglect/child abuse!!! cant do that I'm afraid I also like my peace and quiet so if he sleeps through on formula the steriliser STAYS!!!!! :lol!:

Re: Kitchen tank!!
I'm confused with the steriliser not required anymore...
been trying whole milk ... lil one wants baby powder milk.
i assume you were sterilising beakers/bottles not the actual milk? So why do you still need steriliser?
(if you don't already..try warming the whole milk... could be the chill)
You need tank set up... tell him its essential for your peace of mind!!! Would be more expensive if he had to take you out or threaten to take up some mad super expensive hobby like learning to fly a plane lol

Apparently you dont need to sterilise bottles once they go onto whole milk because the milk isn't sterilised so it defeats the object, however formula is made with boiled water therefore is sterilised if that makes sense!
He already has cold bottles because I always have at least two made up in the fridge (have you ever tried making a bottle fresh with a baby screaming for food NOT GOOD!!) so it cant be the temp. It must have a different taste (I dont like milk so couldn't tell you)
Heehee I cant use the expensive Hobby excuse I already have two horses which are B***** expensive hamsters IHHO!!!
I am going to work on him slowly dropping hints!! I managed to get a huge tank that way but it takes ages!!!
VAN - YOU ARE MEAN!!!! :lol!:

Re: Kitchen tank!!
Guess the lil one just likes to be picky :D
And yea fish can't compare to horses for expense
That's why i have bettas now be a long time before I could afford to have a horse again so its the lil fish in the meantime.
Hubby is bound to cave in eventually.... he loves you after all and i'm sure he'd like you to be happy. If another tank in the kitchen would make you happy.... lol
Goodluck with it and let us all know when you manage it!
