Right, dunno which section this should go in so thought here would be best!

I tried to set up a brine shrimp hatchery, but the temp has to be set at 24 degrees apparently, does anyone know what happens if temp isnt kept up as I dont have a heater and IF I could avoid buying one it would be better for the lecture I will get if I say I need another heater lol!

i think it would proberly affect how quick they hatch it might take longer if the temps cooler but im not to sure. if you put it in the window it might be ok. i dont know about where you are but hear my rooms been between 22 and 24C for the last week

Hi
Here's a diagram of the hatchery I made. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

I just have ours on the wall in the kitchen, no special heating at all. Mine hatch after about 24-36 hours.

oooh thank you - this helps loads!

To feed the BBS to the fry, can they go direct in the tank or do I need to swill off the saltwater?

Also, do you have to vinegar eel? littleangel

We use Vinegar eel for the first 5 days or so, then use the bbs. There is so little aquarium salt used, I feed as it is. Just run some off into a small glass and use a syringe or dropper to draw it out the glass.
