do u have to pay for like importing them into the country?

Re: Aquabid to the United Kingdom!???
Hi
The situation with UK people buying from Aquabid is -
Very very expensive i'm afraid. There is no UK transhipper that I know of at present. The closest transhipper is in Germany and their fees are very high, could run up a bill for one fish to around £80+
Some sellers from Asia will offer to send direct to the buyer, however this is illegal and if DEFRA & Customs decide to check your parcel you could be liable for a fine of up to £2000 and/or 6 months imprisonment. The seller could also face prosecution. The fish will be euthanized too.

Re: Aquabid to the United Kingdom!???
Mwahahaha, I have many to add to the sticky if I keep looking much longer
It's a real shame for us UK'ers. They have such a wide choice on there.
I hope people don't attempt to have the fish delivered directly... that's awful for the fish to get euthanised and the buyer to end up in prison!

Re: Aquabid to the United Kingdom!???
The other thing is that it can take a minimum of 3 days for the Betta to arrive which increases the risks of DOA.
It's such a shame that the old transhipper for the UK stopped doing it.

Re: Aquabid to the United Kingdom!???
Have been browsing on Aquabid this afternoon when having a break from my studying. Noticed this seller on there under the name 'korwhord', seems to have a transhipper that has the UK under his name.....
here is the link, if you look under the transhippers, it mentions the UK??? Kevin Piper...
could this mean UK transhipper?

Kevin Piper used to the be UK transhipper but he stopped a couple a years ago so they probably just haven't changed their information.

Email Kevin and see if he's started again...that'll be the easiest way, but if its anything like it used to be you'll have to wait for a reply.

Re: Aquabid to the United Kingdom!???
I've got a feeling that he changed his email from the one used on aquabid too.
I may still have it but it will be on my old computer. If I get a chance I'll dig it out and see if I can find it.
