Re: my marine tank update
thank you all for your lovely comments
rezz there isnt much difference to having a trop tank,
well with a small one,
just keep up with the water changes,
no need for skimmer or sumps on this one
simple (like me!) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Re: my marine tank update
Yeh Rezz.......there are very simple options that you can choose for running a simple marine tank.
Theres a system called the Berlin method. This method relies on Live rock performing the filteration.
So a simple set-up could be -
20g tank, 10-15kgs of live rock, 2 x internal pumps (to circulate the water), heater and some T8 lighting (T5 if you want corals), and some sand. Thats it really:) Even under T8 lighting some corals are possible too. the only drawback with this system is that stocking levels are reduced. In a 20g set-up you would be looking at something like, a pair of Clown fish, a couple of gobies, shrimp and maybe a few hermits.
Obviously good husbandry is called for:) Keeping up regular 20% water changes per week is a must to keep it looking good.
