Post by Netty Fri 4 Sep 2009 - 16:22

Had my little boy out the other night and grabbed a couple of pics. He's a Lesser Platinum Royal Python and is just a year old. I love his colouring.....so pretty

I do love his markings....would have liked a Mojave female to breed him with, as they produce blue eyed leucistics which are quite sought after.

He's getting a big boy now though and doesn't fit in my pocket any more LOL

They are fairly easy to get hold of but you're talking about £300 for one!!!

This is a Mojave

And this is a blue eyed leucistic from a rep forum....just scroll down to see them.

£300 is pretty good though, as this time last year it would have been £600!!!

Plus both the Mojave and Lesser Platinum are co-dominant. The Lesser P came from breeding a Platinum to a Normal which produced about half Lesser Ps so we're hoping that by putting him with our normal female (which is dominant) we should get some back and maybe some other similar morphs.

Well I'm glad to hear your snake has outgrown your pocket. As beautiful as they are, you running around with snakes in your pockets is a bit of a scary thought...

They're sooo gorgeous, it's funny cause i've never been into reps until i met you guys! My husband is seriously thinking about getting our son a snake or lizard, it's more cause he doesn't want a dog ( which is what the rest of us want!)

Thanks Crystal.......Royals actually do make very good childrens pets as they are more likely to curl into a ball than bite and corn snakes are very good too (obviously with supervision). If handled regularly from a baby you shouldn't have any problems at all.

In fact I've had no bites from any of our snakes but 2 from my cresties :lol!:

And they are very therapeutic....if you're ever stressed then handling a snake is so calming LOL
