I used to buy wood thattook ages to soak but since discovering lots of lfs sell planted pre soaked bogwood from their ank i use this now and very little tnnins are produced - i always like some Smile

The tip i would say is when you get it home soak it in hot water with a very weak bleach soloution then run through cold water quite faST flowing

take care to rub through every leaf if you dont want snails

:lol!:
I've lost count of how much wood has been put into mine, it's never done any harm LOL. It's only ever tiny splinters coming off of it if anything, and any bigger pieces will get caught on the thingymabob made for that purpose to stop it being clogged.. whatever the thingymabob is called.. confused01

Works a treat! I curse the days of leaving wood soaking for weeks at a time haha.

I've found the best pieces are generally used in the tanks at lfs, so I just point one out and say 'that one!'. Then it's SO's job to scrub with one of those scrubby brushes.
