Filter Question Empty Filter Question

Post by ReptileLuver729 Tue 21 Jul 2009 - 23:44

Ok so I have an filter inside of my 6 gallon at the moment. For my re-vamped 10 gallon I was going to use a filter that hung on the side, but since I wouldn't be able to get a hood that would work for that I decided not to. Instead I am going to get another one of the filters I already have and have them both in the new 10 gallon. The tank will be split into four 2.5 gallons, so where should each filter be. One in each far end?

One in each end will be great:) Keep your filter you already have going, and when its time to put it in the new tank, swap half the media with the new media of the new filter.
Alternatively, pop the new filter in the 6g you have until your 10g is ready, and as long as the flow isn't too high, have it running right next to the other one. This will help start the cycle of the new filter:)

Well they are Tetra Whisper in tank filters so I can't do the media swap thing. And an update on the female betta that has the gash is that the gash has changed to a fleshy orange color now and she is a lot more active today than yesterday :D

I dont think you can add a tube, so one at either end. I would place them so they point towards eachother (i.e. at the divider).

Good news that your female is more active thumbup
