Regrowth driving me nuts!
Iv got 3 boys whos finnage aint that perfect, Sky my blue/white SD got finrot while i was on holiday back in October, Pineapple my yellow SD decided to chew his own tail and the newest boy Lightening DT(ebay boy!) had really bad finrot amongst other things after arriving in the cold without a heat pack
Im giving each boy a daily meth blue bath and adding aquarium salt and stress coat to their clean water everyday...i know its slow but i didnt realise how slow it would be. Things seem to get better especially with Sky then he gets the finrot again! Iv got them in a tub each on top of my 100 litre tank so they stay warm.
All acting very normal, even little Lightening who hadnt eaten for almost 2 weeks has started to look a little bit more lively swimming about and he ate last night
Here's a few photos of the boys:
This was Pineapple before he chewed his tail:

Sky before not perfect but he did have a white trim round the edge as you can see:

Lightening before finrot...when he became sick the day after he arrived and all this started:

Finrot started...shocking! His fins just literally fell off!

This is Lightening with hardly any finnage left:

You are so attentive and work so hard at it. I do hope they start to show
signs of regrowth. Keep it up, I'm sure it'll pay off!

Re: Regrowth driving me nuts!
i get so mad at two of mine! Cup, my super long-fined VT, and Dante, my new copper delta boy. Cup's always ripping his fins on SOMETHING, but luckily (despite his super long fins), doesn't bite. Dante, however, decided the black butterfly on his fins was tacky, and tried to take chunks out of it! Dx
all i do, is change things around in their tanks, add aquarium salt and an Indian Almond Leaf, and keep them stimulated, and things grow back all pretty(the black on Dante's tail came back, thankfully), and they don't bite!

Thats good news for you Luimeril im happy your bettas tails have grown back...the yellow betta i think he chewed on his tail as he was depressed after i removed him from the breeding tank and from his female!

Re: Regrowth driving me nuts!
he was love-sick! so cute.
i'm careful about my Delta. those, and Half-moons, i've heard, are notorious tail-biters. gotta make sure he doesn't get chompy with his tail! i've also heard the butterfly edges don't grow back. :<

Re: Regrowth driving me nuts!
Really they dont thats probably why the white trim hasnt grown back on Sky. I find halfmoons, rosetails and the bettas with large beautiful tails get damaged very easily.

Re: Regrowth driving me nuts!
i jinxed myself. ._____. went out x-mas shopping with a friend last night, and he went chompy on his tail. x-x UGH! bit off HUGE chunks! Dx i do hope it grows back perfect like last time! ;A; gonna swap some decor between him, and my PK female, Lulu. she's the only one with some interesting decore, aside from Chappy and Zidane's bowl-caves.
