oops, I did it again
Was in Petco today looking for gravel when I accidentally looked at the bettas and just happened to find the cutest delta tail. Somehow he ended up with me at the cash register. And the next thing I knew, I was dividing another tank to put him in. Ha! My pink veiltail Lotus seems happy to have a neighbor to flare at. The new little guy is so neat -- you look at him from one angle and he is a shiny pink. Look at him from another angle and he is shimmering green. So I named him Sequin. And now I'm up to 5 bettas. Somebody stop me!
So tell me, how does one recover from betta addiction?

Sorry to inform you there is no known cure. The only thing that seems to
quell the addiction to my knowledge is another and another until your house
is absolutely packed with them. Once saturated one can hold the disease at bay
with rare occasional additions.
This tends to be only temporary and can explode at a moments inclination
when one fabricates excuses to visit ( Do I dare say?) your favorite lfs. One
tends to rationalize using excuses like I need food, filter media, equipment
upgrades and the grand daddy of all; a new tank!
Be careful because you have just entered the Compulsive Behavior Zone!

Haha! Well I have no absolutely no room for more tanks but I had one left that I could divide so that seemed like a good excuse. I don't have any delta tails either so I thought that was another good excuse.

I'm staying away from the pet stores as I don't want to be tempted at the
moment. Besides Chard has a couple I'm seriously interested in that will be
ready in around 6 weeks now I do believe.
You can always look on Craigslist for used tanks or even free ones. I managed to pick up a pair of 10gl. tanks complete with heaters. filters and decorations.
I've missed out on several larger ones too. Just be persistent.
Its always feels so good to get new Bettas or fish! Satisfying a need!
