black fancy gold fish
Looking at the bettas as you do in an aquatic shop, cost £8 each no way am paying that for a vt. Went to look at the cold water, I have a tank with 4 fancy ones in, and they had a tank crammed full of black fancy (moors?) I felt so sorry for them and they were only £2 I got one. It is very lively but is currently swimming round in a goldfish bowl! shrie! got one split in his fin in clean water with a bit of salt, anything else I can do?

if its just a split in his fin he should be fine to go streight in the tank. watch out with the bowl or ammonia will build up rediclously quick.

in a bowl? Hmm, you will need to put in a suitable tank quick, as Kiz said the ammonia will build up very fast.

I think clean water is the best healer.
I know you wanna QT him just in case, so is it possible to go and buy a large-ish plastic storage box? Not v expensive and would be better than a bowl for him regarding water quality. Maybe stick a filter in with some sponge from another tank?

thats a good idea, I have a larger container in the cellar and possibly a filter will set him up tomorrow. he has the cutest face and the bobbly bits (wen??) on top of his little head!

I have a few like that, they are really adorable. I prefer the lionheads (bobbles all over their heads) to the orandas, but orandas are still beautiful
