it may be they are getting eaten, or they are really good at hiding!! the fish that i know will eat them are loaches and puffers. there are probably more though.

ahh there pest snails! I couldnt stand them! they were all over my community and divided betta tanks. They breed proper rapidly too [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I think i read that you want snails, in that case just feed them regularly.

But.... if/when you get fed up of them, feed your fish less. You will see the population dramatically reduce Smile

i know what you mean about the breeding ive vent for 2 to about 22 in a few weeks.
i dont really want them but if they just stay in the breeding trap there fine because there doing a good job at cleaning up after the dirty fry :]
i cant really feed less or just one of the fry will eat it all and the others get bearly any.

theres about 40 snails now. i put them in one of them little blue plastic tanks today because the fry where getting to big for the breeding traps so ive divided a 10g and have the males in one side and females in the other. flip i can see what you mean about the snails ive been sitting there watching them and there quite intresting to watch. ive got more respect for them now lol i still couldnt have a 55g tank full of them but i might use a 3g tank i have in the garage for them and let my little bros look after them.
this is the tank there in at the moment

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

and this is the frys new tank. its not very good and i dont normally like useing ornaments but i got all of these free with the new tank so thought i would just use them for now

Just to warn you, when you squish pest snails they release more eggs so you end up with hundreds more for the sake of squishing one. The best way if you spot some you want to kill is to scoop them out and put them in boiling water.
