quick way to grow plants? lol
Is there any way of growing plants quickly? I have some little stems (lol) which i took from the community tank before it went, nd they are tiny!
but Gambit will be coming soon (hopefully)
I have put them in a container on the windowsill, and there is a ramshorn snail in there too.
So obviously bettas need/prefer tall plants, but my plants are short
Does that make any sense?

ahh bless, thats kind of you!
Guess what! You know my friend who took the community tank, she gave me a 17l tank free. It came with nothing, but i have a spare heater and filter. So Gambit can live in there! Its bow fronted like the shrimp tank, and is slighlty wider.
Woohoo!! Cant wait!

Kind of an old thread, but since you didn't get an answer--I'll try to fill in for future planties!
Well the windowsill is a surefire way to grow algae quickly, if nothing else, lol. You could try dosing with a fertilizer, I prefer Seachem products if you have that option. Seachem's Flourish fertilizer is safe for fish and invertebrates, but pay attention to dosing. If you don't fertilize, don't make the mistake of giving your plants too much light for not enough nutrition, or they'll start to turn yellow and go bad on you. Without ferts, I give my plants eight hours of light, with ferts, I stretch it to 12, which I probably shouldn't, but I like to be able to watch my tanks as much as possible~ Good luck.

will try that for next time, as the plants are in the tanks atm, because my bettas will be coming tommorrow!! woohooo!!!!
I sold, the anubias as they were short and also the hc cuba. The camboba carolina (my fave!) has grown approx. 1 cm lol!

Oh, that's good. Cabombas are really pretty and prolific. But they can do this really annoying thing where they start shedding their little fronds EVERYWHERE and make a huge mess. Fertilizers will help if you run into any of that. :>
