On that mouse forum I read that female mice are prone to getting these lumps. Here is the link to the discussion over it:

I'd not heard that before. I guess most animals are prone to different things and definately didn't see any with lumps on any of the mice where I got my little one from.

Next time I see him I'll ask him if he's ever had a problem.

i agree with Netty. any breed of animal is "prone" to something. boxer dogs are prone to cancer, cats are prone to cat flu or luekeamia, nice prone to lumps (apparently)

its a risk you have to take unfortunately. but IMO i wouldnt have girls anyway, boys are much friendlier

I've heard that boys bond alot better with their owners and I know my little one is very easy to handle.

I dont know why? I was allergic to him too, i only had him for a few days Sad
i would also say get a rat, apparently they are really smart!!! They are cute too!
