mollies
How big would you think baby mollies would have to be to put back in the main tank? I have about 12 babies in a qt tank which I need to set up for another betta. They arent going to grow very big in the qt tank as they havent got a heater! Suppose I could sacrifice one to see what happens....

Hmm... I'm not an expert on fry at all, but you you put the babes in a breeders net in the main tank so they had the same water/ flow etc but the others couldn't get to them?

Re: mollies
My sister had hers in a breeder net, they stayed in there for about a week, she then released them and they have all been fine including her guppy babies. I think it depends also on your tank hon, if there are plenty f hiding places for the babes to go to x

Re: mollies
what other fish are in the main tank?
they can go in the main tank as soon as there dig enough not to fit in the other fishes mouths.

Re: mollies
they should be fine to go in the tank once they get about 1cm or maby a little bit bigger depending on the size of the mollies.

Re: mollies
Ok looking in the main tank this morning just checking how you do and I noticed 2 baby mollies, heaven only knows how long they have been there but as they are the same size as the ones in the qt tank they are all going in the main tank, little devils.

Re: mollies
I have 6 orange baby mollies which are about 2 months old now, i put them in a breeder box in the main tank but they soon out grew the box as at that time i had 8. So i moved them to the 21 litre tank where they've grown a lot more but last week 2 of the babies died, there had been no signs of illness. The others have been fine since...is this normal for not all the babies to survive or is there something wrong with their living space?? I check their water regularly and its fine.

Re: mollies
I decided to try 3 of my biggest babies in my 95 litre tank this morning, when i first put them in they where chased by the other adult mollies. They are now hiding in between the plants and seem to be ok...just keeping an eye on them though.Have i done the right thing?? Please help me...

Re: mollies
I think i did the right thing as my baby mollies have grown a lot quicker in the bigger tank as they arent fighting for food in there.
