MORE ROOSTERS UGH
Tim and I had started keeping chickens, we started out of 8 Buff Orpington hens, one didn’t make it past toddler hood and the other 7 girls are getting huge and out running around in their pen. We where given 6 white chicks from my nephews embryology project, I was 99.9% sure they where roosters when we got them and yup all roosters. We gave those guys all away. We don’t want to keep roosters to begin with, because of our young son and even if we did it would be a purebred Buff Orpington rooster so we could hatch and sell chicks.
We where given three new peeps again, told they where all hens and were a barred rock and two Easter eggers. Well the barred rock is a boy and one of the supposed Easter eggers is a male as well. I am also fairly sure that they are not Easter eggers because of the leg coloring.
I don’t want to keep random roosters so these guys need to go. But then what am I going to do with little miss lonely? I cant just throw her into the big girl coop alone. Ugh. Here are pics of the little invaders.

Re: MORE ROOSTERS UGH
I was thinking about it. its generaly a very bad idea to add one younger smaller hen to a flock of older bigger birds. the small one would tend to get picked on. this late in the year though its going to be hard to find chicks.
