dividers
Somone needs to come up with a better design!
I decided to move all my fish around yesterday, now that id finially got anouther divder, so they all have way more room ect...
anyway, i divided one of my tanks into 3.
I put male 1 into the first bit, male 2 into the second bit, and male 3 into the third.
Come back down about half an hour later to find male 3 in males 2 bit, and male 2 in with male 1 ???? :S lol!
I can understand how male 3( a babie got trough) He's small, and id added a hose onto my filter, and cut abit for it to sit it, and there were little gaps there.
But male 2 was my big male, how did he get trough!!!!
Anway, i lowered the water level a little (incase he jumped? and where the gaps where, sat some sponge with the pipe on top to fully fill the gap i cut!
Not only that but the divider i have just put in my female tank to keep mum and babies seprate, one babie managed to get trough, try my best to get both sides flush up to the glass but unless your going to seal them in, which i carnt do when iv got fish needed to be in there, i can never manage to get it perfect, and one adventures little fish manages to get trough lol!
I solved it last time by running a long peice of string down between the divider and glass, but it didnt look the best, it seems ok now, have to wait and see if one gets in ^^ lol
do any of you have probs with them??

Re: dividers
the only way to get them gap free is to silicon them in.

Re: dividers
Um I've never had a problem either. Well except 1 boy being stupid and jumping the thing. But there isn't any gaps down the side. I cut mine each time to make them fit snug. I then use metal clips to hold it in place. (The metal clips come with the dividers I buy).

Re: dividers
yes well the problem i have is that the tank has like a glass lip on it?? so the clips are no use. it just sits there its self, good job the fish carnt push them over lol.
its due to the fact the babies are so small i think.
but the males were fine, he just poped over to say hello to his lil boy haha, he hasnt seen him since he'd just hatched ^^

Re: dividers
Yer :D and i carnt stick them in with silicon because the fish need to be in there, couldnt take them out for the time it would take to dry

Re: dividers
Cut a slot in the divider that slides onto the glass lip If they are tall enough that is?

Re: dividers
None of my tanks have the glass lip, so haven't had to worry about it before :D The slot idea just came to me :D
