Our BRB Puddles Empty Our BRB Puddles

Post by Netty Fri 24 Jul 2009 - 2:00

Got some pics this evening of Puddles our female Brazilian Rainbow Boa. She will be 2 years old in October and is between 4 - 5 foot long, so still another couple of feet to grow yet. We also have an unrelated male the same age caller Pepper.

They have the most beautiful colour and iridescent sheen to them

Thanks Ceejayy......they are beautiful

I guess there is always the risk of getting bitten even with really placid ones. You just have to be senseable when you're handling them. So not after feeding, not when they are due feeding, not when you've been handling mice as they can smell it and not when they are in shed.

We have a friend who can handle virtually any snakes, even the really bitey ones........he just has a way with them and rarely gets bitten!!!!

Hopefully in another years time she'll be up to weight for breeding with our male. These guys don't lay eggs but give birth to live babies, so will be really interesting to see :D
