My bengal cat Nikita
Hah, yes, barely started posting and I'm onto the cat pictures.
I have a gorgeous, sweet, completely insane at times cat. Her name's Nikita and she's 3.5 years old now.
She's also probably one of the most photographed cats around and she's been my model for a lot of pictures. Everything from funny snapshots to set up planned and posed portrait shots.
Here's the queen:
Playing and showing off her spots
In blurry action
Here's a proper glamour portrait of her
I have lots lots lots more photos of her and I've not even included any kitten pics yet but it's getting late so I'll let these do for now.
Cheers!

Re: My bengal cat Nikita
Netty - hehe yeah NO, she's mine mine mine mine mine!
But yeah timkel you've clearly done your research lol.
Bengals are gorgeous beasties. Very athletic, muscular and intelligent cats. However I wouldn't recommend them for everyone and they're almost too pretty for their own good.
As in they can be quite a lot of cat to handle and their energy and intelligence can make them a challenge to live with. Nothing is out of reach
Proof:
As an example as well, if Nikita's feeling bored and I've not played with her enough or I'm sleeping in on a weekend and she wants me up she'll do things like get my wardrobe open, jump into it and start shoving all my clothes onto the floor.
Life's always interesting with these cats around and if you love cats and you're prepared to more shape your life around the cat than shape the cat around your life then they're fantastic pets and I wouldn't want anything differently for the world. But yeah, not lazy lapcats or 'low maintenance' pets :D I think I'll always have one of these in my life though. Can't imagine being without.

Re: My bengal cat Nikita
Ok here goes! a bunch more photos of Her Highness
Uninpressed running into another cat while we were outside in the garden behind the house (she's mostly an indoor cat, I take her outside on a harness)
She can also be completely adorable
She was also as a kitten of course, here she's watching my tank which was a betta sorority at the time
Her colour has changed a lot, she used to be almost yellow and now she´s a deep rich dark red/brown sort of colour with her black spots
I'm glad she's not a kitten anymore though, she's more mature now and is a gorgeous beastie to see in action.
but like most cats she likes to cuddle too sometimes
..and oof that was a lot of photos.

Re: My bengal cat Nikita
I just take her out into the garden, she won't even let me take her into the garden in front of the house.
She's really territorial and doesn't want to be anywhere that isn't 'her' territory she'll scrabble and bolt back inside if I try to take her outside in front, what then further away from the house (I tried carrying her once and ended up scratched all over as she scrabbled to get back)
If I move I'm sure I can get her used to the then new garden but it will probably take a little while.

Re: My bengal cat Nikita
One of my cats would always follow me when I was walking the dogs. I ended up having to lock her in and block the cat flap to stop her as I was worried she'd end up on the road and get hit by a car. Mind you they don't move from their beds as often now that they're older!!!!
I bet you don't get problems with other cats coming around then with her patroling lol

Re: My bengal cat Nikita
I love your cat, she is beautiful.......I want a Bengal so bad and in my area they go for about $1000. for an F1.....oh she is so pretty.....and you take great shots too.
I need to post of shot of me and my cats taking a walk to the pond, my hubby gets a kick out of seeing me and the cats walking about with the horses and dogs and the 27 cats at my heals....(I live on over 100 acres) nearest neighbor or road being many miles away, so they are safe.

Re: My bengal cat Nikita
Thank you
She's an F-lots, 10 or 12, I sort of lost count trying to trace it back through her pedigree. Although once you get to F5 or so the males are fertile and the wild blood stops getting diluted. The most stunning patterns are on the STB bengals these days, the breeders have been doing a great job. In terms of the 'paint job' they're looking more striking than the ALC itself.
As for the F1 cats, I would really not recommend those for anyone who hasn't had an STB bengal first. Also they need to do LOTS of research. I know people who have F1's and really they are extremely special pets to have and you may need licenses for them depending on where you live and just yeah, too much to go into.
Even the later generation bengals can be too much cat to handle for some people, although if you've got 27 I'm sure you've got the cat people mindset haha.
For fun, here's a clip of her in action
Still wow, I have my hands full with a single cat, I can't imagine trying to care for that many. Still I live an apartment in the middle of a city so our circumstances are very different.
As for the snows, yeah I've seen snow spotted and snow marbled bengals, I'm still in touch with Nikita's breeder and she has some lovely cats. I wanted a darkish brown spotted female and got exactly what I wanted
..and yeah she's cuddly, she's not quite as in your face affectionate as some cats but she sleeps on my bed most nights and comes to cuddle in the mornings usually. She's not really a lap cat but she likes sleeping snuggled against my legs or in the gap between my legs if I'm lying down. I think a part of that might be that she's fairly big (12 pounds). She's very social though and is almost always in the same room as I am in and she's always there at the door when I get home from work etc. she also wants to check out anyone that comes into our home, preferably by sniffing their faces :D
