Cultures!
Does anyone else find cultures the most vile thing EVER?
Just been having a look at the Banana worms and the tub is absolutely hoaching with them They smell awful, too.

Re: Cultures!
I have to say, since growing micro worms and walter worms in porridge oats i've switched to cheerios at breakfast. The smell isn't too bad atm but ... I'm not easily freaked out though so the squirming doesn't bother me.

Uugh Micro worms are just as bad! Never tried walter worms. Have to say, Banana worms are very easy LOL. I thought I'd killed them, but were revived!

Re: Cultures!
My microworms up and died on me so I tried walter worms. So far all good :D Netty and Vans vinegar eel has been the least smelly/ most hassle free culture I have. I have some grindal worm I'm getting ready for when the fry are bigger that I got from Modaz which isn't too bad so far.

Re: Cultures!
What age do you usually start feeding them to the fry if you don't mind me asking?

Re: Cultures!
Grindal I fed previously about 3 weeks old, but obviously depends on the size of the babies. Never had white worms before, don't think I'll be using them but I assume it's around the same.
I've failed miserably at BBS everytime I've tried it so I'm kinda working between the smaller foods, slightly larger then larger again LOL.

D: ....
Another reason to continue to resist breeding fish ever. Besides, my mom has a hard enough time with the live blackworms in the 'fridge. >_>

Re: Cultures!
I've never had a culture, but I just sent for one a couple of days ago. I'm going to grow microworms! I've read about how you have to give them oatmeal.. I eat oatmeal for breakfast every day. Just ate some right now actually..
