My Blue apple snail finally laid eggs on christmas day and to join in the spree another batch appeared yesterday....
i have 2 apple snails one gold one blue so i was under the impression that these were not hemephrodites therefore only one would lay eggs?
surely these both arent from the same snail...

Suspect

anyhow ill put piccise up of the eggs as they develop

bit late but they can lay a cluch every few days. they dont change sexes. you may also have two females. they can hold sperm for 6 months and will still lay eggs even if they have never been near a male. If they havent ever mated the eggs they lay will just be duds:)

Snail eggs finally Empty Re: Snail eggs finally

I had a black mystery snail, (Tommy), who confused me. It, (I say it because I think it really was hermaphroditic), laid eggs months after I get it. This was the only snail in the tank. The fish it was with, killed the eggs. Several months later, Tommy laid eggs again. I decided to try to raise baby snails, so I removed the eggs and placed them in a separate container. They did hatch and there were tons of baby snails. I had this snail a couple years and there were no other snails around. Every once in a while, it would just lay eggs. It definitely looked like a mystery snail. Is it possible it was something else?

Sorry to hijack the thread. How are the little guys doing?

female mystery snails store sperm. she was probably mated with before you got her and that is why she had fertile eggs.
