Gerbils?

Does anyone on here have or had gerbils? Im only asking as my eldest daughter has been nagging for 2 years now if she can have one/two and wanted to know how easy are they to look after?

I had a couple when I was young. Treated them like any other rodent I had.
I liked it when they stood on their hindquarters. A mini prairie dog!

Thanks dave, im thinking of getting 2 for her birthday but wasnt sure iv only ever had 2 rabbits when i was younger...

I had one that just loved the cardboard tube from paper towels. I stick him
head first into the bottom and climb to the top. Then I'd hold the base like a candle and he'd go to town gnawing on it until it was no more. Of course it left a fine mess in my lap!

Aww, iv been looking at gerbilariums too, my daughter keeps asking me what im looking at them for...i know she's not stupid so i tell her im looking into it for her.
