What to name my delta???
I still need to name my delta....and I've been very picky as I wanna choose a good strong yet at least slightly unique name that really suits him for both colors and personality.

All 4 of those are him....his colors change in different lighting and he's got metallic on his body scales and some move up into his top fin and they get black speckles on the green part of the top fin...usually at the tail end of the fin, the last few spikes.
He's very playful and curious, LOVES to swim and loves watching me and follows me around the best he can when I'm around him. He only flares out his gills if he sees our other betta (duh, naturally) but nothing else though he does seem to charge at stuff without the flare. He doesn't mind being in the light at all (unlike our veil tail) and he's just overall a fun quirky lil beaut.
So far the names recommended have been:
Ariel (my my pregnant friend who is desperate for girl names), Alpha (because of Betta, hehe), and Bo as in rainbow because of all his colors...he can show everything but orange.
But none of these really strike me maybe except for Alpha but I feel a better name can be found.
So what do you all think??
Edit: ok, I realized he doesn't like ginger ale cans up near his glass so I snapped a pic on my REALLY good camera for you guys to see his details. This is the best yet. He's not 100% flared but it's enough to see the details.

Dunno about a name, but he doesn't look like a Delta to me Looks more RT (Rose Tail) due to the amount of branches in his anal fin

TY Silver ^_^
I was thinking that myself, Vandraco. The store calls him a Delta. I think the Rosetail is just a more specific breeding of the Deltas....everything being the same except for the scalloped edge of his fins.
Man he's going wild next to me right now! I can't wait till I can make videos of these guys.
But yeah, I named him Alpha afterall because he now has a brother with the same fins (shape, color, and pattern) named Omega. Alpha and Omega Bettas, hehehehe.

Re: What to name my delta???
Its more to do with the amount of ray branching that produces that edgy look. An RT is a long way down the breeding line from DT, you need good quality HM's to stand a chance of getting there You may find he goes FT (feathertail)?? Take a look at Draco below -

Re: What to name my delta???
Oh wow o.o
I have a bigger picture of him to get a better look at his tail. Draco is gorgeous!! It looks like Alpha might turn out with a tail like that.
I can assume my baby isn't such an adult yet if he truly is a RT then?

Re: What to name my delta???
Looking at the slightly darker edges to his fins, I would say he's still developing.

Re: What to name my delta???
I've seen many bettas, mostly halfmoons, with a dark edge like that with this same exact fin color.
I just got another one...had to show him to the veil tail for him to fan out completely to get the best look. Taken with my web cam as my mom took our good camera with her to DC....but I think you're right. I think the store mis-labeled him as a delta.

^_^ Yays!! Now I know also that he's young and should be with me for a good long while as long as I care for him well. :D
I'll take pics, like, daily then make a GIF of it so we can watch his fins develop ^_^
