We have bubblenest!!!

So, as I had aquired a new HM yesterday, I pulled apart my barracks and cleaned it. Moved the boys around a little to give them a change of scenery. LOTS of flaring ensued and this morning I popped in some IAL for each of them. Well, hasn't Shadow been busy building a beautiful little nest under his leaf. He's busily blowing away and stops only to flare at his neighbours before blowing again. What a good little boy! Draco and the new boy haven't bothered with nests and Jules built a tiny little nest but is too busy flaring at Shadow now to care. Nevermind, he's gone back to blowing too as I type this.

Maybe. He actually matches one of my new females beautifully, and people have said I should breed him as he's beautiful. I DO still have the empty 20gal that I was gonna use for breeding...

Have you done a spawn yet? If so how did it turn out? What are Shadows color/s?

*LOL* Uhm, yes I did a spawn years ago. I didn't know what I was doing but ended up with one baby surviving. They were just VTs though. And this is shadow.

Oh, I really like his colors and the highlighting! Also has a real cute face! I hope you
do give it another whirl and are more successful. I imagine its a fair amount of stress trying to bring a spawn through to the end! Even if you're an old hand at it.

He has an awesome face. He has a silvery mask with 'runny eyeliner streaks' and then his lips are flesh coloured. It's very sweet. I may just have to try. He matches this girl very well:

She does look like a good match to me. I've only poked around a little on the breeding section so I'm pretty much at a loss! I'm guessing if they are close in colors there would be a fair chance to carry on. Although I caught enough about the genes to know colors can show up from other generations. Something like that I guess. Sometimes I find or make things confusing until it hits me!

*nods* It will be interesting because Shadow's got some red in his lower fins...I think he may be a sibling of my red dragon. They came in the same shipment to the lfs. I have all the stuff, it would just be a matter of setting up the tank and cycling while I condition the fish...

Since you have done it before I'm sure you'll manage just fine! I imagine the timing is of importance. I won't ask a lot ?'s as I'm sure most of its in the old posts!

Oh, I just meant breeding in general. Lucky for me if I ever get around to trying I have plenty time understand the process. I don't have any females yet or the the tank for a sorority or for a spawn. Lucky for the fry too!

If you are having doubts, maybe you should wait awhile longer. I imagine you're not a time schedule! It has to be time consuming to care for the fry and the whole process. You might get lucky and end up with fifty males to house! lol!

Not having doubts so much as just not sure what I'd do with the fry. I"m thinking about it. I just worry about Shadow as he's pretty feisty..but then, so is that female...
