Pressie Time
Andy had ordered in this little Trinket snake this week and as it was his day off today we went down to see everything as I haven't been there yet.
Well I just fell in love with this fiesty little thing lol and I've always wanted one so lovely hubby bought him for me
It's only tiny still and won't get any bigger than a corn snake. It doesn't bite but acts like it's going to and actually puffs it's neck out really big LOL He has such a pretty little face!!

Re: Pressie Time
Does he have teeth? Like, could he bite you if he wanted to?
I'm totally fascinated by snakes but before I hold one I always have to double check that he can't/won't draw blood. More than anything I'm afraid of dropping them if they give me a fright!

Re: Pressie Time
I'm sure all snakes have teeth that retract into the mouth, they pull forward so if you are bitten you have to push the teeth back with card for example

Re: Pressie Time
Yep they do have teeth but at this size it would be like a pin prick if that
Their teeth are also angled backwards so once they get hold of something you can't pull back out. Some people when bitten will immerse the snake in water to get them to release but fortunately I've never been bitten by any of my snakes
Got some more pics this morning. The first shows her little neck slightly inflated LOL

Re: Pressie Time
well cornsnakes only have tiny teeth not big fangs. The teeth are used to grip the prey as it's the constricting that kills it.
Royal Pythons (Ball Pythons) have several backwards curved teeth, There are four rows of teeth on the top jaw, and two rows of teeth on the lower jaw.
Yes it would bleed it they bit you but it's unlikely they would. They tend to be most nippy when they are babies but soon calm down with regular handling

Re: Pressie Time
Well this little piggy scoffed down two pinkies in record time tonight. Never seen a snake eat so flippin quickly LOL
She struck the first and then tied around it in knots. So funny to watch when she's not much thicker than a shoe lace
