what size tank? ive found pygmy corys and endlers work well or snails, shrimp or ADFs if the betta doesnt take to the fish

Cory's are good with Bettas, some types of shrimp are fine as long as your betta isnt inclined to eat them! (get them at a decent size) most types of snail

Can't really add to what's been suggested, but i've tried corys and rummynose tetras with good results
