Post by damo2904 Fri 2 Apr 2010 - 11:57

Hello, This has probably been mentioned a thousand times, but yesterday my 25 indian almond leaves arrived. I know u can use them for breeding, but what else? can i put bits of them in my tanks as good measure or are they particularly for breeding & transporting bettas?

Hi
You can use them as a general tonic too. They have natural antibiotic properties, but wont interfere with any meds you are using.

In small tanks (10g or less) just use half a leaf. They will float for a day or two, and then sink to the bottom. They may slightly discolour the water, rather like bogwood, but this is fine for the bettas. They will normally need replacing after a few weeks as they can start to go a bit mouldy.

Ok cool so I'll pop one in my tanks. Will put a whole one in my 100litre. What's the best way to store them?
