changing to sand question Empty changing to sand question

Post by flip Sat 20 Mar 2010 - 16:18

ok ive decided to change the 10 gallon to sand too. peanuts is still in the hosp tank but Roscoe is in the tank. should i take him out to do it or will he be ok? i think it may be more stressful for him if i leave him there. i still have the cup he came in should i put him in there? im going to work on getting the gravel out of peanuts side first.

i would take him out and put him in a spare tank or tub with a spare heater. because i found it easyer to do with less water in and i wouldnt want to bury the betta in the gravel or sand and when you first put the sand it it goes really cloudy and i dont think that would do the betta any good. if you do leave the betta in the tank while you do it just make sure he cant jump out.

i dont have a way to heat a spare tub. i could try to stick a piece of the mesh i have for dividers in the hosp. tank. it is a hex so if i make it tight enough it might work for a few hours while i do the tank.

I think dividing the other tank temporariyl is the best option... unless there's something contagious wrong with the betta in the hosp tank?
