Hi everyone [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] I have a 42 gallon tank (dimensions are 48 inches across the front,15 inches from front to back and 12.5 inches from top to bottom) the filter will be the fluval 405 external filter, and the only fish that is certain is a senegal bichir but I have quite a few ideas .
spiny eels
rainbow cichlids
bosemani rainbow fish
fire mouths
twig cat fish
red tailed shark
bleeding heart tetra
banjo catfish
upside down cat fish
pearl gourami
these are all fish that catch my eye,I don't meen they are fish I wan't all together in my fish because that would probably just go into the lines of over stocking [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Hi
Apart from the RTS (red tailed shark) there shouldn't be a problem with the fish you have listed. I say the RTS because the Birchir probably wont like the sharks territorial behaviour.

For the Birchir and the eels, makes sure the tank is fully secure as they can easily slip out through any gaps at the top.

With the Bosemani's 2 males and 4 - 6 females should work:)

When working with fish such as the Birchir and Spiny eel you have to take into account what you will have to feed them. They obviously require meaty foods, and as such will be a big load on the filter.

I would say aim for what you have listed and build it slowly. That way you can ensure the filter keeps up, which it should if fully mature:)

No not neccessarily, neither are particularly territorial Very Happy

What i mean is that as the Birchir will be a heavier load than say the Firemouths, I wouldn't add the Birchir or Eel at the same time as any others Very Happy

Maybe if you go for 2 male and 4 female Bosemanis it''ll be fine. I would just see what you think when you get the stock in. You may feel it doesn't need anything else?
