Yeah, I know males can have the stress lines but these are very clearly vertical LOL. All the "girls" are barred up.

Have seen the girly flaring and competing but these two were snaking against each other doing that mad betta dance then proper going at it. And yet, as I said - barred up. They do have significantly bigger fins than the others. I've yet to believe the egg spot to be a definite answer to sexing them, I've seen plenty of them on males.

Well they're seperated from each other and the rest for their bad behaviour for now. I'll go out later when kids are sleeping and try them back so I can actually keep an eye on them.

def in competion... wiggle like spawn time.... just them working out their order... feel free to chase one with a stick or summat if too moody with the others... helps if you feed the least dominant first pushing others away until done.

Probably take them a day or two to settle

for egg spot... try a torch!... it stands out so much more, like a dif tone of white that almost glows compared to the undefined white spot/anus unsure bit of a spot thing

Give them a bit longer Cara. We had a pure white girl last year acting just like your's. We were so convinced it was a boy, that we sent her up to Modaz and guess what........she was a girl after all and released eggs. Also Pearl the Mum to our babies was returned to us as the person was sure it was male.....obviously not :lol!:

LOL. I'm just a bit concerned as they are actuallu weighing him down.. seems such a struggle for him. He keeps "sitting" on them heh.

I've just brought all the prospect girls inside, OH should've known some of them would end up in the house.. put them all back together again and the blue & yellowish one are battling it out. Rest of them get flared at and back off, so hopefully they'll sort it out!

Well, things took an unexpected turn. This morning it seems as though the lavender, who was previously getting beaten up by everyone else, has now taken the role of dominant female. Even the two trouble makers are backing away from her wussy flare :lol!: They're all looking a lot better this morning, except the yellow gold with his mahoosive fins - still sitting with them. They've had a good feed of Hikari, will treat them to something frozen this afternoon and probably Hikari or frozen(depending on how far the cube goes) again tonight. So looks like all is well!
