Re: I got one!
Congrats! Any names yet?
woah... hold up.
You've still got llooooaaadds of research to do yet for keeping him yet, so id leave the breeding yet. As for the tail type as Kizno said you will need to upload a piccy!

Re: I got one!
he sounds lovely. Keep an eye on him for at least a couple of weeks as they sometimes get stressed out. He sounds ok tho if he is eating.
I have been keeping bettas for donkey years and have never bred any of them. You need to do a lot of research before you even think about it. But, and this is a big BUT you are in the right place.. welcome.

Re: I got one!
Hi
Firstly your Betta is a Veil Tail (VT)
Where on him is the lump?
Is it on top of or below the scales?
How big is it?
Does it protrude from him?

Near the Pectoral fin then? (the little flappy ones on the side)
What size is it? Does it look smooth or rough?

Re: I got one!
If its looking furry then its likely to be a fungal infection. Does the Pectoral fin look ok? (The flappy one behind the gill)

Re: I got one!
If it's fungal then the best medication is Myxazin. You need to keep his temps stable at around 28c. If you can't heat his container then try to float it in your tank to keep him warm.
