My Christmas Present, A New GoldFish Tank! Empty My Christmas Present, A New GoldFish Tank!

Post by jasminek Thu 19 Nov 2009 - 16:32

Hi!
Because I'm an obsessed fish fan, I'm getting a new tank for christmas, for my 2 fancy goldfish.
The tanks an 125l, and I've moved my room around ready to fit it in! Yesterday I bought some black gravel for the tank and on christmas day i'm setting the tank up!
I'm so excited, and its only about 5 weeks away now!
When I get it, i will post pictures. I really will enjoy setting up the tank on christmas!
Just getting equipment for the tank makes me excited, when its about 2 weeks to christmas i'll be buying 8 live plants, 4 cambomba pots and 4 elodea pots, I intend to have everything I need for the tank by christmas.
Sorry if this thread is stupid lol, just has to share my excitement!

Also I'm gonna end up spending every bit of christmas money on the tank so mums limited me to £30! I need to buy plants, a fluval U3, and a new airstone. Not much really lol! But will get the fluvl U3 when i've saved up! My favourite part is now, before hand when i'm saving up my pocket money then spending it on things like gravel, filter!
Can't wait to see the fishes faces when they go itno their new tank! Smile

Cant wait to see the tank once its done! how old are the fish? Ive always wanted goldfish (in a decent tank) I have had:
2 in a 5l tank for 3 months (5 years ago) re-homed Sad
3 in a 10l tank for a week till they went into the pond, they were common goldfish mind.

I like BlackMoors! Maybe one day.......

This was a couple of months ago, I already have my trop community set up lol, oooohh do a journal of the tank, with tons of pics! *nods*

Yeah seapets is good, livestock can be a bit touch and go though and plants are never grand, but equipment wise they're fantastic, are they all around the country? I thought they were just a north essex/ suffolk thing Very Happy

Bett_246, My goldfish are doing brilliant, atm their in a 40l stoarge box until there tank comes.
There 2 fantails/orandas.
I'll post up some pictures in another section if you like? Smile
Hopefully mum will order the tank soon, dont wnat it being late delivery and not here by christmas lol!
It will be my goldfishes best christmas ever. I've kept goldfish for 5 years, but only in the last few months learnt each fancy goldfish needs 40l each, which is why im getting them this new tank!
(Btw,they havent always lived in a 40l box lol!)
I've had them for a year and a halfish!

Not quite sure how old they are but atleast 2 years old.
When bought i'd say they were about 4 months old, and i've had the, about a year and a half so i'd sya about 2 years old, no older than 3 years.

The Fluval U3 is a lot of money for 600L per hour filter at £29.99, considering an Interpet PF3 is around £16 and circulates 800L per hour.

Thankyou Van, will have a look at them then! Will probably get one of those instead! I'll already have a bio filter that comes with the tank, but am running another filter along with it.

Yeahh well don't go by my 40l thing per fish, thats the rule they have on another coldwater forum.
Some people would say 100l per fish or whatever.
Well my goldfish will appreciate the space, a proper tank to themselves! Smile
